Pretty Vintage Finds

Last week I popped into our local Hospice shop
and I found two pretty cups.

Sadly, there were no saucers - only two cups.
I would love to find two matching saucers!
Meantime I've teamed them up with two floral saucers.

There is a stamp on the bottom of the cups
Royal Winchester English Bone China.
Can anyone enlighten me on the name of the design please?
I googled it, but couldn't find a match.

This pretty bowl belonged to my Mother
she used it almost every day and
it has very fond memories for me.

I'm joining
I hope you all enjoyed a relaxing weekend

  9. The teacups are pretty with the pink foxgloves and possible a rugosa rose in the background? Have you decided what the flowers are Shane?

  11. You certainly did find two very pretty cups. I guess they are not named after the flower that is on them. I hope you find out what the name is.

  14. No idea about the design but it's very pretty. One of the saucers look to be a pattern I own by Royal Dalton. Love it!

  17. Hello Shane, what a treasured find in Hospice. I adore the cup with the foxgloves on it, have never seen that design before. My foxgloves are flowering at present in my garden & I just adore them. Perhaps Garden Angel Catherine may be able to help with the name of the design, Have a lovely week my friend x0x

Oh, I just went back and saw it was made for a pottery in Auckland.
I hope you have a wonderful week, Shane, with lots of sunshine in your springtime.

  21. Great finds. Tea cups are always hard to find here at thrift stores. They go quickly, so it is a matter of good timing. Have your tried Replacement.com for saucers? You might try looking there.

  22. The cups with the delicate wild rose and foxglove pattern are lovely, I hope some more research will mean that you can get replacement saucers, although the ones you have with them are also very pretty.

  23. I am always glad to see 'widowed' tea cup and orphan saucers find a good home. The fox glove teacup is unusual.. and sooooo pretty! I like a little mix and match myself. Visiting from Berideen's. Have a lovely week.

  24. That Foxglove teacup is lovely! And no matter that the cups don't match the saucers exactly. They still look very well together.

  28. Hi Shane, I love foxgloves, and grow them in my garden. So therefore I am adoring your pretty teacups! Your mother's bowl is lovely as well. Have a great week!

  29. Hi Shane...very pretty! And unusual...you don't usually see foxgloves or canterbury bells on teacups! Unfortunately you will have difficulties finding match... Royal Winchester was only around for a few years in the 1980s, and left no records that I know of... :( not good news. But I am sure you'll find something that coordinates...a solid color to match a hue in the teacup? Thanks so much for linking to Tuesday Cuppa Tea!

  30. Hello Shane,
Your teacups are really pretty! One doesn't see foxgloves on a teacup very often. I hope you find the matching saucers although sometimes it's fun to create a set with mismatched china. Sorry, I cannot help you with the pattern. Your mom's bowl is precious and holds fond memories. Can't beat that! Thank you for sharing and linking up with me for tea. Hope you have a beautiful day.

    Blessings,
    Sandi

  41. They are beautiful but can't help much with the design's title. English bone? China? Chinaware yes but I'm getting confused with English bone.

  42. Hello Shane, they really are very pretty cups, and most definitely in your palette. I like the look of them with slightly different saucers. Gorgeous! Happy fossicking...xx
