Chinese Lantern Festival

In late February each year
the Auckland Chinese community
hold their lantern festival
in Albert Park
to celebrate
Chinese New Year.

All the colorful displays
depict Chinese scenes
 of old folk stories.

The trees were so
beautifully decorated.

We all enjoyed a fun night
with everyone in such a happy mood.

  6. So interesting that you should post these pictures today Shane. I was just telling a young Chinese student who is my daughter's new Mandarin teacher who came to our home yesterday that Auckland has a large Chinese community. I will have to show him these photos next time he visits. We attended a dinner to celebrate Chinese New Year and last year we tasted moon cakes for the first time at the moon cake festival. I think my younger children would love to attend a lantern festival!
Hope you are well and that you had a lovely Easter.
